The SATs (pronounced "S-A-T" not "sat") are standardized tests , formally called the Scholastic Aptitude Tests and Scholastic Assessment Tests, frequently used by colleges and universities in the United States to aid in the selection of incoming freshmen. Originally it is Brand of College Board - The College Board is a not-for-profit membership association whose mission is to connect students to college success and opportunity.
The SAT-I is a three hour, primarily multiple-choice test that measures verbal and mathematical reasoning abilities that develop over time. Most colleges require SAT-I scores for admission.
The SAT-II subject tests are one hour, primarily multiple-choice tests that measure your knowledge of particular subjects and your ability to apply that knowledge. Many universities may require you to take this along with SAT-I.
Various institutions in Pakistan use their own test formats with the name SAT.
