SAT II Mathematics
SAT II Mathematics is of two levels:
- Mathematics Level IC
- Mathematics Level IIC
Mathematics Level I contents are equivalent to almost Matric and FSc first year text books contents. Where as Mathematics level II is nearly equal to the FSc first and second year course. A Level students can take the test with little study as they are already awared of the concepts tested on the SAT II Mathematics. The conceptual logic is the base of SAT Subject tests. You must prepare the test for better performance. Specially practicing a large number of questions is an element in great success.
Generally you need to have completed a pre-calculus class atleast with a grade B to feel comfortable on the Math II, whereas the content of the Math 1 test extends only through Algebra II and basic trigonometry.
The SAT II Mathematics is believed to be the hardest test. It require a lot of practice work as well as memorization of formulae, and through grasp on the application of mathematical concepts. Never think that understanding of just the relations or mathematical equations give you high score. Instead; you must be master in applying the concepts as well as managing the time.

Expand beyond Boudaries
Better performance on the SAT mathematics rely sololy on the general concepts as well. So you must not bound to the listed course outlines. Learn more and more general ideas and understanding. Practice a variety or questions.
Format (Structure)
The format of the SAT II Mathematics is quite simple. All questions are in multiple choices.
Scoring
- Negative Marking = Yes
- For Each Correct answer = 1 point
- For each wrong answer = -0.25
- For no answer = 0 point
The sum of these score is your raw score which is then converted to scaled score by ETS. The scaled score is the only score reported to either students or colleges, and ranges from 200 to 800.
Guessing on SAT Mathematics
The rule for guessing on the SAT Mathematics tests is very simple
if you can eliminate even one answer-choice on a question, you should not avoid guess, make an educated guess.
Strategies
The most effective strategy for the preparation of the SAt Mathematics is that you must memorize formulas and relations. Even on the early morning of the test day revise once all of them.
At the Center
The student is not allowed to use any textbook or notes during the test. All scratch work must be done directly in the test booklet.
