Woman Emancipation

Women are at par with   men in almost all spheres of life but it is only half of the truth. In reality their life is fraught with harrowing insecurities and risks.

Women are not Lifeless

Tragedy is most of the women for whom these programs are launched are not aware of them or no effort has been done to spread this kind of awareness amongst the women. Moreover, the agencies responsible for implementing these schemes did show only a Julie curiosity and enthusiasm. Huge funds dry   up on the way before they reach the desired destinations. Laws are there to protect the interests of the women but these laws are riddled with many loopholes because they have been made by the males who are not ready to leave their hegemony in one way or the other. They perpetuate their bossism by hook or by crook. Above all the general mind-set is against the empowerment of women. Atrocities and violence against women have not been stemmed.
Thank God the perspective of the society has changed and a general thinking to work for the emancipation and empowerment of women is being nourished and developed. During 1960s and 1970s the movement by the women to seek equality and parity with men gained ground. But still man’s brutal hegemony is strong and deep-rooted to allow for any tangible change. Very reluctantly reservation in the panchayats and municipalities has been enforced. Constitutional and legal guarantees have failed to eradicate the inequality and discrimination.
Women are no longer lifeless and inanimate objects. They have established an identity of their own. They can rule a country, scale high snow-capped peaks, and fly in space display effective managerial skills and what not. The takeoff point has been reached and women must be allowed to express and assert their identity and they must be allowed a free hand to participate in all acidities of social and political life. Women have already distinguished themselves in various spheres of life and have proved their efficiencies as politicians, statesmen, orator’s aristo writers, diplomats, women ambassadors and women-ministers. They have established - their worth to the curious gaze of the orthodox and to the respectful surprise of the world Women represent 50 percent of the world adult population and a third of the official labor force and they perform nearly two- third of at working hours but receive tenth of world income and own less than one percent of world properly.
