ISSB - Selection Preliminaries

Before going into ISSB selection procedure, a candidate must appear some preliminaries tests and an interview.

All the eligible candidates first appear before a Preliminary Selection Board for Preliminary Interview at any one of the stations at

• Peshawar
• Rawalpindi
• Lahore
• Multan
• Karachi
• Quetta
• Gunjranwala

which is nearest to their residence. For this purpose each candidate is intimated separately about the exact date, time and place.

Candidates selected by the Preliminary Selection Board, appear in the written test for the regular commission in the Armed Forces which the candidate for the short service commission and graduate course are exempted from this test.

Candidates qualified in the written test for the regular commission of the Armed Forces and the candidate qualified in the Preliminary interview for the short service commission appear before the Medical Board at the Military Hospital nearest to their place of residence.

The candidate must be fit for service in any part of the world and should have the following minimum physical standard.

• Height without shoes: 5 ft. 2 inches
• Chest (Normal): 30 1/2 inches
• Chest (Expanded): 32 1/2 inches
