The CAT Pacing Method For Attacking the Test

The first one-third of the questions lay the foundation for your score.

So, on the first third of the section:

  • Double-check your work to catch any sloppy mistakes.
  • If you get the first few right, expect to see tough questions early.
  • Don't worry if you can't answer an early question (even the first one). You can recover.
  • Don't over-invest. Some questions yield to brute force, and some don't.

The first third of the section is very important to your score, so take extra care. Check your work carefully. Of course, no one question will, by itself, determine your score, so don't panic if you have trouble with a question. Guess wisely and move on. You can recover.
