National investment trust NIT

The National Investment Trust was established in 1962, to mobilize savings of the people and provide finance for the expanding needs of the corporate sector. The NIT has made investment in key textile sectors such as cotton textiles, woolen textiles, sugar, fuels and power engineering, transport etc. It has switched over to interest free banking since 1979.
