Government Measures for Industrial Development

Since independence (1947), the government of Pakistan has realized the importance of the industrial sector. This is why, from time-to-time, different ruling parties of the development of industrial sector took many steps. Some salient features of these steps are as follows;

At the time of independence, the financial system consisted of only a few commercial banks. There was virtually no financial institution, which could meet the financial needs of the industry in local and foreign currency.
