Paragraph 3 Hints

The following facts have been conveyed to us in this passage:
(1) The death rate in underdeveloped countries has fallen, ‘‘while the birth rate continues to be high. Certain figures have been given and these have to be included in the précis.
 (2) Certain measures, especially birth control are necessary to control the population because otherwise the world will face a disaster in course of time.

(3) The fall in the death rate in chiefly due to the efforts of the United Nations in controlling diseases. The passage being short and full of facts, the writing of its précis is not an easy task.
A suitable heading for this passage would be: Growing World Population” or ‘The Need to Control World Population”.
