The Exam is the only part of your application that is common to all applicants. It gives colleges a standard by
which to compare applicants. The scores for people who took different GMATs at different times are measured on the same scale. Consequently, even though the test changes from administration to administration, it cannot change so much that it renders this comparison invalid.
