An effective argument persuades the reader to accept your argument and point of view. As such, it consists of a proposition, a clear statement which is capable of being argued, and a proof, a reason or basis which is supported by evidences. The evidence is composed of relevant facts, opinions based on facts and careful reasoning. If you are analyzing an argument, you should look for both of these: a proposition and the evidence supporting the proposition.
In this module we will show you a framework for writing analysis of an argument essays and take you through a step by step example of writing an essay using this framework.
