About - St Clares Catholic Primary School

St. Clare’s Roman Catholic Primary School is situated in the Diocese of Brentwood. It was founded in 1970 to replace St Clare’s Franciscan Convent School and serves the parish of Our Lady of Light and St Osyth and its catchment area of Clacton. It is a one and a half form entry primary school located approximately one and a half miles from the parish church.

The Governing Body of the school is responsible for determining and administering the policy relating to the admission of pupils to the school. Common Applications Form should be filed directly to the Local Authority on closing date specified. Supplementary Information Form should be returned to the school by the date specified by the school. the Governing Body has set as its planned admissions number 45 pupils for the school year commencing in September 2014. Full-time admission is provided to children offered a place in the reception year group from the September following their fourth birthday. Parents can request to defer admission until the child reaches compulsory school age in the school year, thus,the school will put on hold the defer entry and not offer and not offer it to another child. The parent would not, however, be able to defer entry beyond the beginning of the term after the child’s fifth birthday, nor beyond the academic year for which the original application was accepted. Morning session only is available for parents opting to take up a part time place until child reach compulsory school age . div>
