Steepness Of A Slope

The higher the value of the slope, the greater the relative change in y (vertical distance) compared to x (horizontal distance). Therefore, a slope of a higher value is steeper than a slope of a lower value.

The line with a slope of 1 increases 1 unit of y for each unit of x.

The line with a slope of 2 increases 2 units of y for each unit of x, and is therefore steeper.
