IBA is the oldest business school in Pakistan. It was established in 1955 with initial technical support provided by the world famous Wharton School of Finance, University of Pennsylvania; later, the University of Southern California set up various facilities at the Institute and several prominent American professors were assigned to the IBA.
In spite of a rapid increase in the number of business schools, the IBA has maintained its position as the premier institution of higher learning in the field of management and business administration.
IBA requires its own entrytest or GMAT for MBA admission both in main and city campuses.
The IBA offers full-time business programs both at the Main and City Campus.
It also offers a variety of part-time programs at the City Campus in the evenings.

A candidate to the Ph.D. program is required to qualify IBA entrance test and interviews.
The successful Ph.D. candidates will be offered Research/ Teaching assistance for which they shall be offered monthly stipend and tuition waiver.
The duration of the Ph.D. program is from a minimum of 3 years to a maximum of 6 years.
