Isra University is chartered by the Government of Sindh, and is 4 out of 9 universities in the category of Medical Sciences. It is the first recognized University in the city of Hyderabad established in 1997. More than 2000 students are enrolled in 2011. Isra University offers Bachelor's to PhD levels, in a wide variety of fields of study such as medical, dental, nursing, rehabilitation sciences as well as electrical engineering, computing & management sciences. All programs of study are recognized by the concerned regulatory authorities.
The university is owned by Isra Islamic Foundation, a non-profit organization, certified by Pakistan Center for Philanthropy (PCP).
