About - Broomgrove Junior School

Broomgrove Junior School is a primary school in Wivenhoe which is located towards the top end of the village. Set in an impressive grounds containing a large playground with play area, Wildlife Garden, Allotment and a Quiet Garden with vast playing fields and an onsite swimming pool shared between the Infant and Junior Schools.A new multi-purpose room was added to the school in 2011 providing an area where children can work in small groups, as part of this building work a new library was added. In 2012 the Caretakers Bungalow was converted to educational use and will be used by a local pre-school and the Broomgrove after school club in September of that same year.

The admission of all primary pupils for school places for the academic year 2012/2013 and the following years is coordinated with Essex Council. Parents who wish their children to join the school after the September of Year 3 should enquire at the school office. There is no guarantee of a place for children living in the priority admission area . If the application receives is more than the admission required number thus, set of criterion should be follow in the priority order. If over-subscribed following the above then priority will be given to looked after children and then be determined by straight-line distance from home to school. Exceptional medical circumstances may over-ride the above.
