Crays Hill Primary School is a smaller than average-sized primary school that was opened in 1924. Most of the children are came from the travelling community at Dale Farm.

A child has the right to a full time place at school from the September following their 4th birthday. Parents can request to defer admission until the child reaches compulsory school age in the school year, thus,the school will put on hold the defer entry and not offer and not offer it to another child. The parent would not, however, be able to defer entry beyond the beginning of the term after the child’s fifth birthday, nor beyond the academic year for which the original application was accepted. Morning session only is available for parents opting to take up a part time place until child reach compulsory school age . There is no guarantee of a place for children living in the priority admission area . In the event of oversubscription it is governed by set of criteria. However if oversubscription is within any of the given criteria; thus proximity (straight line distance) of the child's home to the school will be given highest priority. Exceptional medical reasons may over ride the above.
