About - de Vere Primary School

de Vere Primary School was opened in 1973. With a modern design building replacing an older building in the village. In recent years, had a number of additions and alterations – an ICT suite; a new classroom for reception age children, storage room and small room for group work; in 2006 a new library, a further small teaching room, renovations to two classrooms and a new cloakroom; in 2007 the toilets were refurbished, a new hall floor has been laid, the room redecorated, curtains replaced and a new audiovisual system installed. v>

Children whose fifth birthday falls during the school year, from 1st September 2013 to 31st August 2014, will be eligible to full time education from September 2013 although this is not statutory until the term in which a child is 5. The school is fortunate in having a dedicated reception/early years classroom built during 2001 and designed specifically for young children.In September our reception children will attend school mornings only for the first two weeks of term after which they will attend all day. The Early Years staff will be making home visits during those afternoons.
