About - Great Bardfield Primary School

Great Bardfield is a school for boys and girls from the age of 4+ to 11. We are a one-form entry school with a published number to admit each year of 24. A friendly, lively, and successful school of which we are proud. Our aim is to provide creative, child centered learning in a happy, safe and caring learning environment.

We are a one-form entry school with a published number to admit each year of 24. Should this number be exceeded, we will follow the Local Authority guidelines for admission when offering a place. Places are allocated according to the published criteria. There is no guarantee of a place for children living in the priority admission area . In the event of oversubscription within any of the above criteria, priority will be determined by straight line distance from home to school, those living closest being given the highest priority. Exceptional medical circumstances may over ride the above. We have two intakes a year in September and January. From September 2011, parents can now decide if they wish their child to join the Foundation class in September or wait until January.
