About - Hatfield Peverel Infant School

Hatfield Peverel Infant School is a smaller than average infant school, which serves its local community, as well as a wider community in more recent time.Opened in 1975, when the local village primary school became two schools, Hatfield Peverel Infant School and St. Andrew?s Junior School, both of which now share the Church Road site .The school shares some facilities and resources with an adjacent junior school. The majority of children attending the school live in the village itself although a significant minority of children attending from surrounding villages, Witham and further afield.We have 60 places per year group and all admissions are dealt with by Essex County Council.

Year 1 and Year 2
The School admits pupils full time in September who reach five years of age between September and December. Younger pupils are offered part time places (mornings only) for the Autumn Term and full time places from January onwards. All Reception children attend for morning sessions only during the first week or so of the school year in order to help them to adjust gradually to changes in their routine. There is no longer a guarantee of a place for children living in the priority admissions area. If the number of applications exceeds the standard number, places will be allocated using set of guidelines. Applications for places in the school are handled centrally by the Planning and Admissions of Essex County Council. All forms must be returned on specified date.
