Opened in 1982, Katherine Semar Junior School is situated in Quaker town of Saffron Walden in North West Essex. An average in size for a junior school with large grounds and shared site with the Infant school.

The school admit all children living inn the catchment area regardless of gender, disability and race. In the event of oversubscription any remaining places is allocated following the set out criteria in a priority order. Exceptional medical circumstances may override the criteria above. All prospective pupil are invited to a half-day visit before to start on full time schedule.
