About - Kelvedon Hatch Community Primary School

Kelvedon Hatch Community Primary School was built in 1879 serving the village of Kelvedon Hatch. The school building was extended in 1930 and a second building was erected in 1968 to accommodate four further classes, a dining area, kitchen, well equipped hall, administration offices and staff room. The school grounds have two large playing fields ,three playgrounds and a heated swimming pool with changing roomsdiv>

Children commence full time education at the beginning of the Autumn term during the year in which they become five years old. Places must be applied for by completing the Common Application Form (CAF) and sending it to Essex County Council (ECC) on the closing date stated in the Application Form. Offers of places are sent out to parents by ECC at the beginning of April. There is no guarantee of a place for children living in the priority admission area. If the school is oversubscribed places will be allocated following set out criteria in a priority order. In the event of oversubscription within any of listed criteria, priority will be determined by straight line distance from home to school, those living closest being given the highest priority. Exceptional medical reason may override the criteria (other than Looked After Children).
