About - Lawford Mead Infant and Nursery School

Lawford Mead Infant School and Nursery School is situated off Chignal Road on the west side of Chelmsford, Essex and was opened 1956. Most of our children live within walking distance of the school but we welcome some of the children that come from outside this catchment area and all applications to join our school community.

Class	Intake
Year 1 and Year 2 - Clubs	January

Children are admitted to our full time Early Years/Reception class in the September following their 4th birthday. The school is able to offer part-time schooling in the Nursery from the age of 3 years subject to availability of place before starting the infant school. All application to infant school is through Local Authority. In case of over subscription criteria will follow. For a place in the nursery, parents should register their child in the office and offers of a place will be confirmed approximately half a term prior to starting.
