About - Northlands Junior School

Northlands Junior School was opened in 1968 to serve the developing Northlands Estate to the north of Pitsea village. The school was built with eight traditional classrooms. In 1973 a four-class open-plan extension was added which joined the school to the Infant building. In 1996 there was a major refurbishment and the open plan area was converted to four separate classrooms to meet the changing demands of the curriculum. There is a well-equipped hall, which is used for physical and corporate activities within the school.

All applications for a place to attend Northlands Junior School will be handled in accordance with the co-ordinated arrangements by Essex County Council . Parent must complete the application form and submit on or before the stated closing date. Pupils will be admitted to Northlands Junior School at age 7 without reference to ability and aptitude. The number of intended admissions for the Year 3 admission group is 64. In case the application exceeds the available places following set of criteria will apply. Highest priority will be given to those living closest to the school determined by straightline set by LA.
