About - Ravenscroft Primary School

Opened in 1982, Ravenscroft Primary School are very proud of the education we offer and work exceptionally hard to ensure we meet the variety of needs children have. Every child is treated as an individual and given the opportunity to develop their skills and interests and flourish in a supportive, caring and safe environment.

Years 1 to 6
Children are legally entitled to a place in school at the beginning of the Autumn term in which they will have their fifth birthday. Children are admitted to the Reception Class in September. All application processing is in accordance with Essex County Council. There is no guarantee of a place for children living in the school’s priority admission area. Where the application exceeds the places available, alloccation will be determined by set of criteria in a priority order.In the event of oversubscription within any of the above criteria, priority will be determined by straight line distance from home to school, those living closest being given the highest priority.There is a waiting list for the Nursery and parents are advised to place the names of younger children on our list as soon as possible. When a place becomes available parents will be notified and invited to a meeting, as well as induction sessions for the children. There are twenty-six places available for morning sessions only.
