About - St Georges Infant School and Nursery

The school was built in 1974 and the new nursery was built in the summer of 2012. St George's Infant School & Nursery is pleasantly situated adjacent to a playing field and surrounded by trees. The school is a lively and stimulating school with seven class rooms, a double relocatable teaching unit and a brand new purpose built Nursery Unit.

The admission arrangements are in accordance with the Local Education Authority's Policy. Children are admitted to the Nursery, on a part-time basis in the year in which they are four. A termly staggered intake takes place where children are admitted to the Nursery in the first two weeks of the term on a part-time basis, either in the morning or in the afternoon session. Children are admitted to the Nursery based on the same criteria used for admittance to the main school. the allocation of a place in the Nursery does not automatically guarantee a place in the Reception class. Transfer to the Infant school then takes place in the term in which they are five when children are admitted into the Reception class on a full-time basis. The number we intend to admit into school for the academic year 2010/11 is 75.div>
