About - St Martins School

St. Martin's School was founded in a house in Langley Park, in the dip of the road alongside a stream which ran down to The Broadway and into Silk Stream and was subsequently destroyed in the bombing of the 1940's. Eventually St. Martin's outgrew the existing accommodation and moved to Goodwyn Avenue. Miss Joss took over the ownership and headship in 1947. She remained in that position until 1974 when Mrs. Gillian Murray, who had been teaching at the the school, bought the school and remained for the next twenty one years until Mrs. Angela Wilson became the new owner in 1996. Numerous generations of boys and girls have had a happy and successful start to their school life over a period of three quarters of a century. div>
