About - St Marys Lower School Kindergarten

St Mary's is a non-selective school, but our focus on academic teaching and the tailored support we are able to offer each individual means that girls really fly in the Lower School. The school is an extended Victorian building and is well equipped, with light, airy classrooms, hall/gymnasium, library, drama studio and excellent sports facilities. We have nine acres of playing fields and woodland, with netball and tennis courts as well as a fun nature trail and our own Forest School for outdoor learning.

Years 1 to 6
Pupils enter the Lower School at the age of 4 when they join the Preparatory Class, or 5 if they join in Year 1. Younger children are invited to attend the school’s informal ‘Kitten Club’ before they join the Preparatory Class, to familiarise themselves with the school and to help them feel more settled. The next Assessments for entry to St Mary's in September 2013 will take place on Thursday 21 March 2013
