About - St Osyth C of E Primary School

St Osyth C of E Primary School was originally founded in 1856 as an all-age school and rebuilt on the existing site in 1970. It was founded by the Church to provide education according to the principles and practices of the Church of England.

St Osyth C. of E. Primary School provides for the full-time admission of all children offered a place in the Reception year group from the September following their fourth birthday subject to the availability of places. Parents can request to defer admission until the child reaches compulsory school age in the school year, thus,the school will put on hold the defer entry and not offer and not offer it to another child. The parent would not, however, be able to defer entry beyond the beginning of the term after the child’s fifth birthday, nor beyond the academic year for which the original application was accepted. Parents opting to take up a part time place until child reach compulsory school age and schedules should be arrange with the school. Deadlines and processing of applications must be made in accordance with the co-ordinated scheme operated by the Local Authority. As our school has Church Status, a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) also needs to be completed and returned to the school on given specified date.
