About - The Mayflower Primary School Harwich

It was formerly the Hill School from 1914 to 1957 until it rename to Mayflower County primary school. The school was enlarged in 1986 under amalgamation with Lower Dovercourt (Second Avenue) Infants’ School. In 1987 it moved to premises formerly occupied by Harwich County High School, its former premises being converted for use as the Magistrates' Court. The Mayflower is a larger-than-average sized primary school. It shares a campus with an Adult Community Learning Centre.

There is no guarantee of a place for children living in the priority admission area. In the event of there are more applicants than intended number of admission of 50 for 2014/2015, places available will be determined by set of criteria in priority order. Should there be more applicants than can be accommodated that fall within any one of these selected criteria, then places will be assigned first to those living closest to the school on the basis of straight line distance from the school gate. Exceptional medical circumstances (supported by medical evidence) may override the above, other than Looked After Children.
