About - White Hall Academy

White Hall Academy is nearly twice the size of the average primary school.White Hall wanted everyone to feel happy, valued and included which we do by embracing the four simple, interconnected practices of the fish philosophy. It became an academy on September 1, 2012 Through the partnership with Learning Pathways Academies Trust, White Hall Academy will continue to flourish, providing every child with the very best standard of education.

Pupils will be admitted to Reception classes at the beginning of the academic year (September) in which their fifth birthday falls. This is without reference to their ability and aptitude. The intended number of admissions for this academic year is 90. Where applications for admission exceed the number of places available, sets of criteria will be applied in a priority order to decide which children to admit. Admission to the Nursery does not mean automatic entry to the Reception classes. Where parents feel that they do not wish their child to start school before statutory school age, it will be acceptable for them to start at the beginning of the term in which their fifth birthday falls. In each individual oversubscription criterion, priority will be given to a looked after child. The Academy will agree any changes to its admissions’ arrangements with the Secretary of State for Education. It will establish procedures for appeals against non-admission which will include an independent element. Details of admissions and appeals’ arrangements will be published each year.
