Whitgift School was founded in 1596. They aim To strive for excellence in all aspects of school life, promoting a culture of achievement and the celebration of achievement and To inculcate positive values of mutual respect, tolerance and self-esteem, fostering an informed and critical awareness of the mores prevalent in society. The Whitgift Rose, created to mark the 400th Anniversary of the School, is widely planted throughout the grounds.
