About - Widford Lodge Preparatory School

Founded in 1935 by the Witham family - originally an all boys boarding school for ages 7 – 13 years.During the war years the majority of pupils were evacuated to Somerset and the site was commandeered by the local ambulance corps. It is at this point that Widford Lodge School acquired its distinctive school hall. In 1985 a Pre-Prep was added to the school accepting boys aged 4 – 7 and at the end of 1980's it become a day school. In the early 1990's the school no longer take children beyond Year 6 but open a nursery for both boys and girls. Widford lodge was now a co-educational day school for children between the ages of 2½ – 11 years.

In order to enroll your child you would need to complete a registration form and pay a fee of £75. Children moving up to the Pre-Prep will have to pay a non-refundable confirmation fee of £250.Children can start at Nursery in the term during their third birthday and families new to the school, early registration is recommended from initial contact
