About - Writtle Junior School

Writtle Junior School was opened in 1963 as a primary school to serve the picturesque village of Writtle, replacing the two smaller village schools which could not cope with the increasing number of pupils alongside of Writtle Infant School. Built around a small quadrangle which houses the school garden and vegetable beds. With seven classrooms, each with internet access and interactive white boards, providing a light, airy and well equipped environment for the children to learn in.

Looked After Children and children attending Writtle Infant School that request a place at Writtle Junior School will be allocated a place providing an application is received by the closing date. In the event of over-subscription within the above criteria priority will be given to looked after children and then determined by straight line distance from home to school with those living closest being given priority. Exceptional medical circumstances may over ride the above. For applications received after the start of Year 3 Looked After hildren will be given priority ahead of all other applicants.
