About - Downham CofE VC Primary School

Built in 1965 to replaced three village schools, Downham Church of England School serves the children of Ramsden Heath, Downham and part of Ramsden Bellhouse. The school has new four permanent class base, new entrance hall and administrative offices. It is also have sports field in the school site, a wildlife area and two playgrounds. The school has close links with the church of St. Margaret’s at Downham as well as Schools Ministry Billericay.

From September 2012 all foundation stage children will be admitted full time in September on their fifth birthday. Parents can request for a part time place on morning session only as agreed by the school headteacher. Downham School admission arrangement are in accordance with the Essex Education Authority’s policy. There is no guarantee of a place for children living in the priority admissions area. In the event of over subscriptions places will be allocated according to the Essex Education Authority’s guidelines. The school is also accepting older children throughout the school year when there is a suitable place. When a year group is oversubscribed, priority is given in accordance with the LA’s Admissions Policy as set out for Reception children.
