About - Great Berry Primary School

Great Berry Primary School was originally opened in 1988. The school renowned for its high standards of achievement, behaviour and discipline. In January 2012, Great Berry was inspected by OfSTED and was deemed outstanding in all areas. Now Great Berry Primary School is an over-subscribed and popular school situated in the Great Berry area in Langdon Hills where number of pupils rapidly increased to over 400.

Great Berry Primary School provides for the full-time admission of all children offered a place in the Reception year group from the September following their fourth birthday. Parents can request to defer admission until the child reaches compulsory school age in the school year, thus,the school will put on hold the defer entry and not offer and not offer it to another child. The parent would not, however, be able to defer entry beyond the beginning of the term after the child’s fifth birthday, nor beyond the academic year for which the original application was accepted. Any parent interested in taking up a part-time place initially should contact the school for further details as to what this would entail. The application process is in accordance with the co-ordinated scheme for primary admissions and involves completion of the Common Application Form. Offers of places will be sent from Essex County Council on 17th April 2013 and 15th January 2013 is closing date.
