About - Green Street Green Primary School

In 1851 James Fox, a local farmer opened Green Street Green School for the children of his employees. He couldn’t have known that he was starting a thriving village school which would still be educating the children of Green Street Green 160+ years later.As the village expanded so did the school and, in 1908, the school moved to its current site. It became known as ‘Vine Road School’ and is still affectionately called this by some of the village’s older inhabitants. The school continued to grow and further buildings were added in 1930, 1960 and 1990. Looks like they can look forward to 2020!
