About - Maylandsea Community Primary School

Maylandsea Community Primary School, a local school originally dates back to 1877. Located at the heart of the Maylandsea village community offers a happy, positive learning environment for your child. Children is encouraged to develop initiative and self-discipline, and to become an active learner. At MCPS, they believe strongly that children can reach high standards in their work and the school try to foster academic achievement. They also believe that children need to develop good inter-personal skills, courtesy , consideration for others and opportunity to achieve their potential and to enjoy the journey.

Children are admitted into the Foundation Stage in the September at the start of the academic year of their fifth birthday. A deferred entry may be agreed with parents on request as the official school starting age is the term after the child’s fifth birthday. All admission applications should be sent via Essex County Council.
Priority Admission is given to children living in the area at the time of application and determination will be allocated a place at the school providing an application is received by the closing date.Any remaining places in the event of over-subscription will be allocated with given criteria.
