About - Purford Green Primary School

Purford Green Primary School originally was an Infant school. And when it was opened 2009 it became as a Primary school . Sometime April 2012, the school moved into extensive remodelled building which now provides excellent new facilities for children 4-11 years. On site is a new Pre-school building, run independently as Little Acorns. All classrooms are light, spacious, fully equipped, and have their own cloakroom and access to the outside and an enclosed Early Years playground, while older children can use the sportsfield and wildlife pond.

It is open to children who will have their 5th birthday between September 1st and August 31st may start school in the in September. It is not compulsory for any child to start school under the age of five where parents can request that their child attends part-time until the child reaches compulsory school age. Completed Common Application Form by paper or online is to be submitted to the Planning and Admissions at Essex County Council by the published closing date. Purford Green can admit 30 children in each academic year. In the event that more than 30 applications are received, Planning and Admissions will allocate places according to the criteria in a priority order.For Mid Year Application parents must request admission to school and apply to Planning and Admission by paper or online. If there are less than 30 children in the year group for which an application is being made they will usually be offered a place.
