About - RA Butler Academy Infant and Junior Schools

Opened in 1965, R.A. Butler Junior and Infant Academies are separately constituted schools with a combined intake and gained academy status in 2010. They share same site surrounded by mature trees and includes substantial playing fields.

Children will be admitted at the beginning of the Autumn Term, in the academic year on their 5th birthday for infant and when they are 8 during Junior class without reference to ability or aptitude. Parents can defer entry until later in the school year or until the child reaches compulsory school age in the school year. Reception intake will be coordinated with the Local Authority as well as on Year 3. If a place is available then the oversubscription criteria will be applied to all applicants including those on the Waiting List to determine who will be offered a place. div>
