About - Rolph Church of England Primary School

Rolph Church of England Primary School was named after James Rolph of Thorpe Lordge, a farmer and barge owner, who gave the money to build the school on land provided by the Church. The school opened on 31st October 1870. Since then the school has grown and been extended. we now have seven well-equipped classes, a purpose built computer suite, a library, a large assembly hall and refurbished administration area. Rolph Church of England Primary School enjoys close links with Saint Michael's Parish Church. div>

Children are admitted into the reception class at the start of the autumn term, in the academic year in which they are 5 with the school intended number to admit each year is 28. Processing and submission of application on specified closing date for places in Rolph Church of England Primary School is in accordance to the Essex County Council Local Authority policy. Where applications for admission exceed the number of places available, the following criteria will be applied in a priority order. In the event of over-subscription, priority will be determined by straight line distance (provided by the Local Authority) from home to school, those living closest, being given highest priority. A waiting list will be held until a request is made to remove a child from the waiting list or the child becomes too old to attend Rolph.
