About - St Olaves and St Saviours Grammar School

he origins of the St. Olave’s and St. Saviour’s Grammar School goes back over 450 years to a time when the voluntary efforts of the people of Southwark made possible the financing of several educational institutions for the benefit of the ‘children and younglings’ of the parish. In particular, the legacy of a brewer named Henry Leeke enabled St. Olave’s to begin on Michaelmas Day 1561 and to receive its Royal Charter as a Grammar School in 1571. The school moved to Orpington in 1968. he School Foundation continues to support the school financially in a variety of ways which enhance the quality of life at St. Olave’s.

Those whose parents/carers wish their child to be considered for a place will be required to sit tests in English and Mathematics at the School designed to assess candidates’ suitability for anacademic education.
