About - William Read Primary School

William Read Primary School was built in the year 1924, and opened on October 7th on that same year. The school has attractive outdoor areas which are used well. The school have two buildings which each house children from both key stages to ensure that pupils feel part of the same of the same bigger community schools.

There is no guarantee of a place for children living in the priority admission area. The published number for academic year 2014/2015 is 60. In the event of there being more applicants than places available the following criteria will apply in priority order. In the event of over-subscription within the above criteria priority will be given to looked after children and then determined by straight line distance from home to school with those living closest being given priority. Exceptional medical circumstances may over ride the above. Exceptional medical circumstances (supported by medical evidence) may override the above, other than Looked After Children.
