Information Technology Centre (ITC) Sindh Agriculture University had been quite foresighted in developing Information Technology in educating and training the manpower in the “Information Technology Centre (ITC)”.
Information Technology Centre was established with a view to impart quality education to the youth of the country in general and the province of Sindh in particular to face the challenges of the new millennium in Information Technology as high order professionals with academic excellence.The main purpose of the ITC is to produce market oriented graduates in the field of Information Technology. It also helps to enhance the research and analytical capabilities of the students and the faculty through the latest advancements in Information Technology. It also shares responsibilities in producing graduates to help agriculture sector in accordance with ever changing global trends in information sharing.
Institute of Food Technology
The Institute of Food Technology was activated during 1996 and it started its academic activities in 1998 as per provision of PC-I of Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam. The purpose of establishment of this department is to meet the requirements of trained manpower for strengthening food science and industry in the country and to impart quality education and to carry out research in various discipline of food technology to benefit the farming community. The Institute has given emphasis on value addition of different agricultural produce such as cereals, fruits and vegetables through training the manpower and conducting research on these aspects of processing and post harvest technology to reduce these losses. Apart from these activities the Institute of Food Sciences & Technology is also engage in developing processing technologies to convert the waste produce into its consumable form so that it can be consumed by human being as food and can fulfills the nutritional requirement, in impoverished rural areas of Sindh / Country.
Faculty of Agriculture The Faculty of Agricultural Engineering is one of the five Faculties of Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam. It was established in 1970 with an aim to take leadership role in the promotion of technological changes. Faculty offer undergraduate and Postgraduate courses.
Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences (AHVS) The Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences (AHVS) is largest academic set up amongst five faculties of Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam. Established in 1971, the faculty offers a five-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree program and postgraduate degree program(s) including M.Sc., M.Phil. Ph.D. through its 14 teaching departments.
Faculty of Agriculture Social Sciences This Faculty plays an important role not only by offering degree programs in various disciplines but also by supporting academic programs of other faculties by offering compulsory courses in English, Statistics, Pakistan Studies and Islamic Studies.
Faculty of Crop ProductionFaculty of Crop Production conducts diverse programs in education, research and service for the nation and community. It operates teaching and research facilities at six departments i.e. Soil Science, Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Breeding & Genetics, Plant Physiology & Biochemistry and Biotechnology. All the departments offer course work leading to the bachelor’s and post-graduate degrees.
Faculty of Crop ProtectionFaculty of Crop Protection comprises three departments of Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam conducting diverse programs in education, research and service for the nation and community. It operates teaching and research facilities at 03 departments i.e. Entomology, Plant Pathology and Plant Protection. All the departments offer course work leading to the bachelor’s and post-graduate degrees.
