About - Brightlingsea Infant School

Brightlingsea Infant School welcomes all children and places high priority on teaching the whole child within a socially inclusive environment. We know that children learn best if they are part of a stimulating and happy environment where academic skills are developed alongside social, physical and emotional skills. The external space around the school allows us to be creative in developing a child friendly play space. Covered areas throughout the school enable children to enjoy a continuous learning environment both inside and outside the classroom.

The School will admit children to one of the reception classes in the year in which their fifth birthday falls, without reference to ability or aptitude and will enter school full-time in September in the year in which they are five. Parents who may delay entry or request part time education of their child should discuss options to the headteacher. All application sent to all eligible children in October for September 2013 school year will be return to LA by January 15, 2013. Brightlingsea Infant and Junior Schools are separate establishments with separate governing bodies and their own admission policies. Applications must be made to the Junior School by the 15th January 2013, in the school year a child becomes seven.
