About - Brightside Primary School

Brightside Primary School situated in the north west of Billericay within walking distance of the town centre and Billericay station. It was formed from the amalgamation of Brightside Infant and Junior Schools in September 2000. The school also has a well equipped Early Years Unit and two halls both of which are used for indoor PE and assemblies. It has pre-school unit at the site under Gooseberry Green Pre-School that admit pupils from 2 ½ years old.

A child has the right to a full time place at school from the September following their 4th birthday. Parents can request to defer admission until the child reaches compulsory school age in the school year, thus,the school will put on hold the defer entry and not offer and not offer it to another child. The parent would not, however, be able to defer entry beyond the beginning of the term after the child’s fifth birthday, nor beyond the academic year for which the original application was accepted. Morning session only is available for parents opting to take up a part time place until child reach compulsory school age .
