About - Engaines Primary School

Engaines School is a Foundation Primary School with places for a maximum of 270 children. The school provide places for the children of families who live within our Parish Boundaries and the rest are from people in the surrounding area of which a large proportion of those come from the town of Clacton. The Governing Body of Engaines Primary School is exploring the possibility of becoming an Academy with effect from 1st September 2013 and school name will be changing from Engaines Primary School to ‘Engaines Primary Academy’.

he school follows the admissions procedures agreed by the Local Education Authority and children generally start school in the academic year that they are 5. All children are admitted full-time in September. The school’s catchment area as defined by Essex County Council is the Parish of Little Clacton. However, children from outside Little Clacton may be admitted if there are places available and enquiries from parents who live outside the catchment area are welcomed.
