About - Finchingfield Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School

Finchingfield C of E Primary School was founded in 1856 to provide education for the children of Finchingfield. We now have children attending the school from Braintree and the local villages including the Air Base at Wethersfield. Developing a love and enthusiasm for learning is the top priority for our entire school and the extended local community, giving children the opportunity to thrive and grow in a safe and caring environment.

The priority admission area for Finchingfield excludes the old USAAF base. There is no guarantee of a place for children living in the priority admission area. In the event of oversubscription places will be allocated following set of criteria should be used. However if oversubscription is within any of the given criteria; thus children living closest to the school will be given highest priority (determined by straight line distance from home to school).Exceptional medical circumstances may over ride the above.
