Great Chesterford C of E Primary Academy is a popular oversubscribed primary school that is located in northwest Essex. The school have separate playgrounds and toilet facilities for the infants and junior pupils.

Children are admitted to the school during the academic year following their fifth birthday. The school has 3 intake according to their age. For those born between 1st September and 31st December will take full time from the start of the Autumn term. Part time each morning during for the first three weeks of the Autumn term and then to be phased in full time before the half term break for those born between 1st January and 30th April. And part time each morning during the Autumn term and then to be phased in full time before the half term break children born between 1st May and 31st August.
