About - Katherine Semar Infant School

Katherine Semar School infant was opened in January 1977 and named after the local benefactress who donated the money to build a chantry and school in the town of Saffron Walden. The building is semi open plan design with extremely well equipped and carpeted classrooms.

A child has the right to a full time place at school from the September following their 4th birthday.Parents can request to defer admission until the child reaches compulsory school age in the school year, thus,the school will put on hold the defer entry and not offer and not offer it to another child. The parent would not, however, be able to defer entry beyond the beginning of the term after the child’s fifth birthday, nor beyond the academic year for which the original application was accepted. Morning session only is available for parents opting to take up a part time place until child reach compulsory school age .
