About - Kelvedon St Marys Church of England Primary School

Kelvedon St Mary’s Primary School is a voluntary controlled Church of England school in the village of Kelvedon situated midway between Colchester and Chelmsford off the A12. The school has a well-equipped library, ICT suite, large hall, eco garden, swimming pool and a minibus. We have two large fields and two areas of hard surface for play and sport and we are totally committed to providing your child with the very best education possible. Our vision is to create a learning culture where everyone feels valued, safe and is happy to learn.

As required by law, all Essex infant and primary schools provide for the full-time admission of all children offered a place in the Reception year group from the September following their fourth birthday. A child has the right to a full time place at school from the September following their 4th birthday. Parents can request to defer admission until the child reaches compulsory school age in the school year. However,the school will put on hold the defer entry and not offer and not offer it to another child. The parent would not, however, be able to defer entry beyond the beginning of the term after the child’s fifth birthday, nor beyond the academic year for which the original application was accepted.
